'99 extended cab window air noise

I have had this truck from day one and I have yet found a way to correct the wind noise coming through the extended cab windows. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this, besides gluing the windows shut?

You may need new seals around the windows. I had the same problem on my truck. It got worse as the years rolled on. I never got it done since I knew I was getting close to selling it.

Also check the latches. They may need to be adjusted. Mine were very loose and I never got them tightened.

I had this problem when mine was under warranty. The dealer actually changed the entire window unit on the passengers' side to sorrect the problem.

AFAIK, this was/is the only fix. I have NO idea what it would cost to replace the window.

you might try going to a glass company.

Get use to it. It is one of the many annoying problems with these trucks that GM has refused to deal with. My 99 had every one of them, thats why I got rid of it and will never buy another.

While it was under warranty, the windows were replaced, that didn't help. They put screws in the latchs to tighten them, that didn't work. I plan buying a Avalanche in a few years. I guess I can live with it a little longer.

What's weird is they don't whistle all of the time...sometimes the right one does and sometimes it's the left.

That's what they also did to mine. It did stop the noise, but I also make sure that I never open the vent windows either.

Sincerely,
Matt

Our 2000 at work does this. It whistles, some days are worse than others.

I noticed the window is barely held on with anything on the front side. I had a look at it to see if I could stuff some kleenex in the handle to make it tighter, or stuff some cloth in a crack someplace, but it doesn't look like there's much anything would do.

Good truck though. 290k miles and counting.
