heres the problem, on saturday i jump started my caprice after not startin the car for over a month and i drove it that sun and mon mornin with no problem. Monday evening when the temp dropped to like the 20's the car wouldnt start, all i kept doin when i turned the key was click. I had some one give me a jump but that didnt work, then after i got tired of tryin to jump it i decided to give it one more try with out the jumper cable and it started right up. Yesterday mornin i go to start it and it keeps doin the same thing and all i here is this click, even when i try to jump it. The battery thats on there now is an interstate batt thats almost 6 yrs old, i was thinkin it has somethin to do with the cold and the battery but not too sure and besides i want to at least want to start the car and take it to autozone so i can have the batt. tested and be sure.
I also check the wires to and from the batt and alt. and to and from the batt. and starter and they appear to be fine. Im

Agreed, chuck the battery. I toss them after 4 years regardless even if it still works fine.
Give your battery connections a good wire brushing. Cars that sit around tend to collect moisture under the battery connections and you wind up with a layer of corrosion that contributes to a no-start condition.
