'98 emergency lights

I'm sorry in advanced that I do not know much about this model of car, or much about cars in general. I have bought this car used not too long ago. Today I noticed my emergency blinker lights were on. This had dumbfounded me as the last time I used my car was sunday night (after superbowl). I always double check my lights and doors since I had once let my batteries go dead on a previous car. Anyway, today, tuesday (two days later) they were blinking like I had just set them off. I went and checked my car by turning it on and the battery was no where near dead. I had no idea how to even turn the emergency lights on, I had to sit there for a few minutes trying to find the button to turn them off.

If anyone would have any idea to why this may have happened, I would love to hear your opinion as I am completely stumped. Thanks.

Does it have a security system? Maybe its got some issues. Sometimes those dumb things are more a pain than there worth, but thats just my opinion. :)
