I'm glad I found this site: www.smartmotorist.com They seem to be partnered with http://www.carlynx.com, which makes them a cousin of AF, I guess.
I really like this article about Traffic Waves (http://www.smartmotorist.com/wav/wav.htm). I had thought about this before and had come up with some queueing theories, but never got around to expanding it to deal with more than one lane of traffic. Very interesting, and it includes driving tips that will never work in the real world, because no one ever considers the flow of traffic, only themselves. Great article, though!
...But the traffic jam is ALWAYS the fault of those who refuse to let anyone merge ahead of them. "Just merge behind me." No, that doesn't work, since everyone in the whole lane is saying the same thing!

I like to consider myself a flow-er of traffic. While i drive i am always considering the flow of traffic, others' speed, how far apart cars are. Hell I can even tell exactly what other people are thinking and/or going to do. After watching the bonus features of gone in 60 seconds, and hearing about their trip to the stunt driving school, i started to consider what they all were talking about. I have become a mental driver i believe. I also feel i have the mentality of a racer. And of course i am the only person in my town that knows how to drive anyway.
