97 Mitsubishi Eclipse heater problem

Hi all,
I just bought a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse, but the heater does not work. Only some hottish warm air comes from the left door side. Is this a normal 97 Eclipse problem? I thought it was cause of the thermostate but the seller said he had changed it a year ago. (But I don't trust the guy). Anyways, if anyone can help me I would be glad since it's 7 F degrees here in Buffalo...:banghead:
