The nylon bushing that goes on the striker bolt (Torx Head) is missing. I had the same problem with my 86 Suburban. These can be purchased at most auto supply stores but you have to buy the Torx Head bolt and washer to get the bushing. I bought one to use as a pattern and made 6 more before I put it on my Suburban so I had some spares for the other doors. Check one of the other doors and I'll bet the one is missing from the driver's door which normally gets all the use. If you replace it, there is a doubler plate inside the door pillar that will fall down when you remove the Torx bolt if you don't take the trim off the door pillar and hold it with your hand. (I found out the hard way and it was a b@$tard fishing it out.) Take a pencil and draw around the big washer before you start so you get it back in the same place and your door will shut correctly. Good luck. :)
