Instrument Panel Question

I have a 91 RS Camaro w/ a 305. Recently the odometer, tachometer and speedometer stopped working. All the other guages like temp and fuel still work. None of the guages are digital.
I took the instrument panel out just to check that the circut board board connections where all clean and they were.
My questions are:
1. Does anyone know where the speed sensor is located? Is this easy to replace and is this most likely the problem?
2. Am I correct to assume that a speedometer gear w/ a cable does not exist because the instrument panel is a circut board?
3. Does this sound like the instrument panel itself is broken?
4. Any other ideas?
Appreciate any help, and thanks in advance.

if the speedometer stops working, the odometer will stop working because the odometer calculates the distance based of what the speedo says. it depends on the speedo.
i dont know why your tach would stop working. it gets its reading from a single wire connection to the distributor. (i think its a yellow wire).
the speed sensor is located at the rear, driver side of the transmission (most of the time), right ahead of the driveshaft. it will probably have a wire coming from it and one bolt holding it in. it's very easy to remove and not an expensive part. (when u remove it, if the plastic gear looks fine, the sensor is probably fine).
sounds like a problem with the gauges to me. maybe get another gauge panel of eBay, try it and see what happens.
