i got a 99 grand am v-6 when i drive it there is a roaring noise in the front end it the noise picks up or slows down as with your speed. and if u turn it to the right it also whinnes like a power steering pump problem. but u can turn it to the left there is no whinning but the roaring is still there no matter which way you turn it. now with the car setting still and running you can turn the wheels right or left and no whinning??
so do i have 2 seperate problems?
what is your thought on this..........
pump is full and not foamy.
plus jack the front wheels up off ground and put it in drive the roaring is there yet.

the roaring I would say is because where yo are its realy cold... ?
Jacking the wheels off the ground is only when yoe are bleeding the system of air,
after the system has been taken apart replacing a pump or hose.
Check the fluid level after its set for several minutes.
After it warms up does the noise go away?
My GT does this a little when its cold outside.
But after driving for 15-20minuts it stops.
probly a sign you have excess moisture in the power steering system. A fluid drain and refill with new wouldnt hurt.

it not cause of the cold weather...it done it when its 70 outside to. i have not taken apart anything yet.
it just a roaring noise at any speed plus the whinning when u turn to the right only. i just jacked the front wheels off the ground and put it in drive and gave it alittle bit of gas to see it the nose is there yet. which it is :-( (i thought maybe it was the tire i had on it)
the whinning nose is only when u turn it to the right not to the left and moving. setting still u can turn the wheels both ways and you hear nothing.

Could be the pump...
You could get the fluid cleaned out and new installed and see if that clears it up. Thiers also a filter in one of the lines.
If its pluged the pump would whine more then just right turns.
