Coolant Leak?

99 GASE v6

So after a long 4hr drive... almost home, all of a sudden I get a strong wiff of coolant :disappoin

It is possible I might of sprang a leak somewhere, on the way home passing people 95mph-ish just wanna get home heh

I think it might be somewhere in the dash, hence it being so strong inside the cabin, I checked the floors when I got home, not a drip

When the car revs more, the stronger the smell so its obviously coolant thru a line w/ the pump and all that mess... I dont even know where to begin looking, its to dark right now to inspect the engine, good thing I have tomorrow off

AC works, heater blows hot/cold all fans work perfectly... but theres just that smell that came out of nowhere :disappoin

Gimme ur thoughts, might be the connection to the heater core, a tube on that or something... either way its pretty strong

If the smell emits fromt the vents its probly your heater core leaking and when the fan is turned on you smell it.

If its under the hood look on the ends of the block.
Under the TB and around the PS pump/alternator.
Thier are several hoses too that can leak ,
might have just been the overflow too from running it so hard :grinyes:

yea thats my guess, I just did a 4hr drive lol... all the hoses and clamps have been replaced except the ones on the inside to the HC

Could the pressure build up that much?

Im about to run it this morning, hopefully with some heat... if the smell is obviously strong ill post back about it -_- ...

I only smell it when AC is on,

After this morning's run It was faint but it might of been what was left... I stuck it on heat but not full blast, thinkin it might be able to evap w/e was left if possible.... ill keep my nose up for the coolant smell

its so sweet of a smell lol, hate it :rolleyes:
