max hp

does i get the maximume hp at the maximume RPM avaliable( redline) or i can get the maximume hp less than the red line ?

i ask this question because in found in the booklet of any car say:ex.
the redline : 6000
max hp : 160/5500 rbm

That means that they achieved 160 at 5500 RPM and then it began to taper off. Just because a motor can rev so high, doesn't mean it will still make power. However, you're still better off squeezing off the extra 500 RPM's before you shift so you will stay in the upper powerband.
