Hello
I am a first time poster at this site and have several questions that I hope can be answered.
1) Do throttle body spacers work?
2) Do cold air induction systems work?
Also, is there any way to add a second catalytic converter and exhaust system along with an additional oxygen sensor to create true dual exhaust on a vehicle.
Thanks. This is an enjoyable site to read.

Hi BayouJack and welcome...what year truck do you have? Most spacers go on the older trucks and do they work...mine didn't. I had a 5.7 engine in a 95 1500. Now the cold air intake is one of the top bolt-ons that does work...along with having your computer reprogrammed.
For you last question, I just cut out the stock muffler and installed a Borla Turbo muffler so I can't help you with your exhaust question.

Well BayouJack I can tell you from experience that intakes do work. I put a K&N GenII FIPK on my Silvy when I had it And it gave me about 7 hp and picked me up about 2mpgs. But like Sonny01 said if you do it try to get the programmer too because that with an intake and exhaust makes a wold of difference on my old truck. I dont know about the exhaust question, and I have never had any luck with throttle-body spacers

I'm Definitly With These Two Guys..I First Tried A Throttle Body Spacer From Air Raid and Alls I Got Was An Annoying Whistle/Hiss and No Real Engine Improvements..About A Week Later I bought The K/N System And Definitly Don't Regret it..Pretty Easy Installation..Great Throaty Sound..and I Get About 2-3mpg on my 1500HD..which brings it to a whopping 13-14mpg lol but yeah definitly worth a try..my :2cents:

TB Spacers are a waste of time.. especially is you already have a Vortec engine.
Cold Air inductions is the first thing you should do when you mod a truck :D
Big differance there.
You have to tell us what engine you are running and what year it is, to give you specific info.
But if you are running the 5.3 or 4.8 like 90% of most people do. the truck comes with 2 cats already. One from each manifold. However, if you try to get a licensed machanic to give true dual exhausts, they will tell they can not legally do that. The reason is the way the cats pipes flow into a single pipe. They can not touch that unless they are replacing the cats because they clogged or bad in some way.
There are 2 options you can go.
Have a single pipe to the Muffler with a two pipes comming out or just have a single pipe and no muffler. Have them replace the exisiting muff with a pipe instead.
Install a y-pipe and install two muffs or straight pipe it out the back like I did in my pics below.
Sounds great and better than any muff.

Waste of time and money. These trucks are engineered to give the best possible performance and mileage.
My three trucks are all stock (02 and 05 models), 5.3L 4x4 automatics with 4.10 gears. All have great power and all get a routine 24mpg at 110KPH on the highway. Don't think you can improve on that.
