head removal/and other problems

can i get a reply as to how the removal of the head is supposed to be done?and also if the engine was making a noise like old pulleys or an old fdarm tractor when it makes that noise that sounds like squeeking then it made a noise like something tightened up while it was running is that something to do with the valves or whatever is in the head/block or could it be the timing chain just stopped working?when i turn it over it just stops as if something was being held.helpppppppp meeeeee pleaaseeeeeee.1994 pontiac bonneville,3800 regular no supercharge
