The "Nissan Gorilla" installs those. You just have to twist the ever-lovin' crap out of it, sometimes it will twist halfway around on itself, and it will eventually break loose. Wrap it in a rag or something to protect it and use a pipe wrench or something, or if you are replacing it, just cut it off.

Finally, I found a ? about transfer case. I need to check the oil in the transfer case, WHERE is the fill plug located and where is the drain plug located. I know not to take the drain plug out until I can get the fill plug off, I'm having probs with the 4WD and 2WD, xterra is not releasing back to 2WD and i'm having to drive in 4WD sometimes, it makes grinding/revving noise, by what i read it's either transfer case or hubs.... please help me :)

If you can't figure out by looking where the fill and drain plugs are, why the hell are you trying to diagnose your own problem? Take it to the mechanic! Or at minimum look in your owner's manual for the plug(s) locations. Geeze.

Drain on the front side on the driver's half. WARNING, the fluid shoots out 2+ feet when you open it. Fill is on the back side.
