So my roomate failed to mention that when he used my Blazer, he also topped my rad with water - which then froze over night.
I need dethawing ideas quick.
Thanks in advance

Well, has it done any damage?? I would warm the vechile up really good then drain the coolant out of it, and replace with the coolant of your choice, Red or Green................What ever your supposed to have in it.

Well, i pushed it around my complex and into my garage where I now have a small space heater blowing underneath the front of the vehicle. I'm going to give it a good 12 hours MINIMUM then try a drain/refill. Wish my dumb-arse some luck on this one.

Did he just add water to the overflow reservoir or to the radiator itself? If just the reservoir and if the reservoir don't leak when thawed out I doubt it did any damage. I would pick up an antifreeze checker at the parts store, (they are cheap) remove the radiator cap and test the strength of the antifreeze before replacing it. Drain the water out of the overflow tank before driving it.

Whelp, thawed that sad pup out, drained & refilled the coolant, sat there long thinking hard about if I ought to turn it over or not...finally did and thanked my lucky ass it started up with no issues. I dodge yet another bullet.
