Hi,I am new here and have a few questions.I rescently had my transmission rebuilt and he did a great job,but a week later the check engine light came on and then the trans started to rise to 4 -5 rpms before shifting? So the guy that originaly built trans swears its something in the computer-sensor something(clueless). So he came over and plugged it up with diagnosis and it read these to codes(1870)-(1406),plus he mentioned he needs to find these major box that is affiliated with what he needs to check, does any1 know where it is ?and what those codes mean?much appreciated

Welcome to AF on your first post.
But the problem is.
He is pulling you leg or playing dumb or does not know what he is doing.
Code 1870 is problems in the transmission with the lockup.
code 1406 is a EGR solenoid circuit problem.
What year and size of truck and engine and transmission?
But I would fix the EGR problem first.
And hope the code 1870 goes away.
If not some proper testing by a transmission person that knows what they are doing will led to the problem in there.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
The engine has to be running right for th transmision to work right.
