Looking For Horsepower

I have a 2001 sierra 4X4 4.8L with 3.73 gears & 35" Interac mudders and I'm trying
to find some none major ways of getting some decent horsepower
to turn them. I've already got duel 3" duel straight pipes and putting
a Helix tower and k&n filter in but I don't know what else besides chipping it out.
If anybody has any suggestion let me know!

i know its been a couple days but i was wondering if you have a sound clip of that dual exhaust...i also have the 4.8 and was wondering how it sounds
as for horsepower you can throw some long tube headers on and/or get a Nelson's tune

Sorry I don't have a sound clip but I can tell you that it sounds real deep
and throaty. when you get it up to 2500 rpm plus it gets nice and loud with a real snappy sound to it. I already have tube headers that go to 2.5'' for about a foot into my catalytics than it's just 3'' pipes to 4'' chrome tips out the back.file:///c:/family%20history%202/ty/'06_08_07_01/dcim/100msdcf/dsc00372.jpg

Pace setters LongTube (LT) headers with A Nelson tune, throw on some electric fans to get a little more, how about that thermostat? stock? change it out to a 160 degree one some people say they dont notice it much if at all.... by why not try to run it cooler!
how about that stall converter? Stock?
Switch it out with a trail blazer stall! the ones that come in the it will stall around 2500 Rpms help get you into your power range. It like 240 dollars if you have a person at a gm dealership that can get one for ya. Its well worth the money plus its not hard to put in, couple hour job.
Many routes you can take it just depends on how much you wanna do.
Comp cam 216/220 .525.532 114Lsa cam in with some comp cam 918 springs and some hardened rods youll love it!! Buddys running it in his 01 ECSB 5.3 though, with the trailblazer stall, 160 t-stat, 5.13 gears (locker in rear) shorty headers and true duals w/ no cats, with a nelson tune, CAI, 170K on motor, 36" 6 1/2" lift and 3" body and runs a 14.5 -14.7 in the 1/4 depends on the day and still gets 13-14.5 MPG at 75-80 mph
hope this helps
