I originally started this trying to build a Camaro Z/28 RS that might possibly be similar to the actual production car. However, it looks less and less like the RS option will be available, so it I guess my goal is for a Camaro Z.28 RS possibly similar to the actual production car that will never be produced. :grinyes:
Sorry for the bad pictures...it`s time for a new camera. Modifications so far are the removal of the top, the side heat extractors, removal of the rear "wing" (a spoiler will be installed), and the front nose. It will have a hideaway headlight RS grille and the Torq Thrusts that you see in the pic from the Corvette kit. I am going to modify the GTO spoiler from the Polar Lights kit and install that.

I saw some of the concept drawings for this car on another board. It was THE best convertible I've seen in a LONG time

I saw this car in person at the Detroit NAIAS, in hugger orange and black. It was GORGEOUS in person. Even the taillights, which I didn't really like when I saw the pics of the car, really worked in person. Can't wait to see this one!

Just a little update here. Got everything primered, and layed down the color coat for the stripes. It will be a dark metallic red with white Z/28 stripes. I also finished masking the stripes (what a friggin pain!!!!) and i`ll probably try to get a clear coat on it tomorrow, and then the color.

Hey Hawkey that will be nice when you are done! Hey have you got a spare 350 TPi or LS1 lying around with a T56?

Thanks. I really haven`t decided yet. I may just use the kit engine, but I do also have the LS 7 out of a Z06 lying around that is tempting me. :grinyes:

Another small update. Got the color on. I used a three stage process this time to test the translucent the metallic color is (I usually just spray over white or gray primer). I am actually surpised by the difference in color depth.
I have to remask and repaint the front drivers side stripe, as it came off as I was unmasking everything.

Thanks for the comments guys. What color do you think I should go with for the interior? I was thinking red, maybe tan, but I know most will be black or gray. What do you think?

Saving this build to my favorites!!
Hard color to pick a interior with. Red will look to much and tan wont suit it IMO.
LEAVES ONLY BLACK !!

Thanks again everyone.
Just a little more progress. Touched up the missing stripe, clear coated (5 total), and sanded and buffed the hood and drivers side. I went through the clear a little on the hood and rear quarter, but not to obvious. In the hood pic, you can see the difference between the sanded and unsanded portions.

Looks awesome dude! Thought about the interior anymore? How about black with houndstooth inserts, retro style?

I really like the paint job. But then, I could follow this thread just to see your sig pictures again. Keep up the great work and looking forward to more. And yes, I really like Adam Sandler movies too.
