running out of steam

:frown: 88 honda civic,std. trans.. chk engine lt comes on,looses power,level surface. turn off 5 min. restart,chk. light off , car runs fine for days,then repeats problem. sometimes occurs going up-hill ??????????????? thanks for any help!

next time the check engine light comes on, pull up your passenger carpet and look for a blinkling light. Tell us how many times it flashes, long and short flashes.

long flashes = value of ten
short flashes= value of one


add it up, then come back here.

have you checked the fuel pressure?
