Caravan Rear Light Observation

I have noticed that on most Caravans that the light that is located above the back door does not seem to work (or seemingly does not work, perhaps it does). Today, I noticed that more than half of the Caravans did not have this lamp illuminate although the lights were on. I did notice that on a rare few, the light did tally when the brakes were applied. However, on most Caravans, the light does not tally. Either, this particular light is prone to failure or the light will tally under specific situations. Does anyone know? :feedback:

I believe you are referring to the CHMSL(Center High Mounted Stop Light) and this should only illuminate when you are braking. On my '96 Caravan that is the way it does work.

OK, I guess the lamp on mine has failed. I will replace it. :banghead:
