Hey everyone,
I finally got me ITR done after running into some problems with missing decals and a broken window. So I want to thank Tonioseven and Daggerlee for their help. Tonioseven was nice enough to send me the decals that I had lost and Daggerlee helped to replace my broken windows. This is my first completed automotive model. So please tell me what you guys think. I have finish pics of my Celica coming up, so look out for it.
As you can see in the pics, I made some vents on the carbon fiber hood. I also scratch built the intercooler which I learned to do from flyonthewall's thread.

Your wipers need to be black..
Other than that, it's a good clean job.
Does it run 12 second quarters?

Thanks for your comments, Midnight Racer, kicker1_solo, tonioseven, Daryl, Veyron, tomazws and daggerlee. I really appreciate them. Daryl, I'll see if i can make them black. The only problem I see is that the window is glued right next to it. But I'll take your advice. Tonioseven, you should build another one. I'm sur eit would come out looking really hot. I also want to say i feel really relieved with the comments on my choice of rims. I was feeling kinda shaky choosing them because I have read some threads in which people thought otherwise. Dont forget to check out my Celica post coming up in less then one week. Peace.

It's nicer than the 2 i built
First automotibe model, before this, what were you building???it seems like you have expierience with models because your car looks nice, but 2 comments, why is there an intercooler but no turbo???and this must be a gsr right??? because you don't have the type r stickers on the side and you have a rear windshield wiper, but overall it's very nice,i love the interior

nice job on the integra. cant wait to see the celica. as for the black right next to the windshield, you can easily avoid problems by using masking tape on the clear plastic. then you can paint the area without worrying. just make sure that the masking tape adheres well to the windshield so that paint does not get underneath. BTW tamiya masking tape is best.

And you don't need the stickers to make it a type r. :D

wow...u guys sure know how to brighten up my day with your comments. :) :D :sun: I really wanted to take a break from modeling after i get the CLK gtr sheel done but u guys have inspired me to keep going on. ( I needed that) So i guess Iam going to start working on my Skyline Super Silhouette(SSS) 6th generation when i get a chance. Integra818, this is my first complete automotive model, but I have built airplane models before this. The only thing is i never painted any of my models. So they all took me a day to put together. So i guess that gave me some experience, if u consider glueing plastic peices together experience. Previous to the ITR, i have a clk gtr and celica. The Celica is done but the pics didnt come out good, so i'll have to retake them. As for the clk, it is the first first first model that i had ever tried using paint on. I was actually pretty surprised to see how it turned out and hopefully you will too when i put pics of that up too. The clk should have been done first, but it was dropped by someone and the shell didnt turn out well because it was my first time using spray paint for a model. I was dumb and sprayed it in the basement, so u could imagine what happened. :( So while I waited for replacement parts, I started the integra and celica. Surprisingly, I got them both finished first. hehe I bought the clk in the beginning of last year...so techniquely I have been working on the clk for one year. For people who have read my thread about what i should do with the shell, I am doing the carbon fiber look. It sounds very unique and hot. Also about that turbo thing...well since I have only really done automotive modeling for a little more than a year, I dont have the knowledge to do so yet. But I'm pretty sure I can learn it and Ill be happy to show you the finished product. Maybe if flyonthewall does another tutorial but this time on turbochargers hehe. Ummm...also the type r sticker thing. Yeah....i see what ur saying but i decided to debadge the emblems and stuff. If i am modifying a race car or coupe, i want it to be mine and not some company's becuase I designed it, not them.
Well..I thank everyone for their comments. I'll take all of them into consideration. I'm sorry if the post it too long. Well..i gtg now and do some hw..so ill tty guys later . peace

Cool 'teg! The hood looks well done, nice and neat and not over doing it! A tip here is to grind away on the back of the hood at the edges of the openings to thin the plastic. Ideally u need a motor tool for this and along with some fine mesh t will help make it look a little more realistic.
Its good to see my intercooler tutorial come in useful - i feel honered! ;)

Nice work!

Nice Integra, I like what you did to the hood, I'm going to start experimeting on cutting hoods, for I have to add "holes" to my new civic and DC5 Integra.

of the one that got away. It was done 2 weeks after the kit was released; had my first attempt at a body kit; interior was black and red; engine was fully wired.:(That's my Green Aristo in the background; it's in the new Scale Auto Enthusiast Contest Annual for 2002; pg. 22, #7.

Oh man that sucks! Was it stolen from that show?

jaxson
10-04-2002, 09:20 PM
Again, thanks for your comments everybody. Hash_man: Yes my Teg is lowered but not too much. All I did was sand down the body post 1-2 mm. Thats about it. You can do more if you want, but i don't think it will do much. There is a point where sanding the post wont work because the shell will be laying on top of the interior and engine bay if you get what i'm saying. :D :D :D
