Hey everyone. I might get an engine that has a vacuum advance distributor on it. My car currently has a non-vacuum advance distributor on it. Am I able to, when I get the other engine, to take off the one that has vacuum advance and put on the one that doesn't? I'm gonna reuse my old intake and exhaust manifolds, all I'm using from the newer engine is the water pump, and head and block.

Isn't it possible to just take the one type of distributor off and put on the one without vacuum advance? Sounds like it'd be possible.

Yes, use your old intake system and distr. and all will be fine.

Thank you very much! I found out recently that the 3-cylinder engine can go on any Geo that had it. The difference was the intake/exhaust manifolds throughout the years. :)

I'm really looking forward to swapping engines on my Geo. When I first got the car it was running on 1 cylinder and the clutch slipped, so I never got to drive it the way it should be. So, I'm excited to see how it is. I love these little cars. I used to have a 92 Ford Festiva, and I absolutely loved it (I regret ever selling it but when I sold it I got the down payment toward a 01 Camaro, so it was worth it I guess). Now I have my Camaro and a 92 Geo, which both cars, the Festiva and Geo, practically were the same color....a coincidence. :)
