02-06 Spec V vs 07 GTI

So how well will the reputable (non new crap) Spec V's stand up to the new VW GTI's? I haven't really found a lot of info on them. I don't know about you guys, but I think these cars look hot. I'm the type of guy that hates hatch backs, but I love the look of this car. Too bad the new spec couldn't have been made to look agressive like the new GTI.. :shakehead

with the auto or manual the spec should give it a good run if not edge it out, with that dsg tranny the spec will get pwned

im talking about GTI trannies btw, the spec only comes in sex speed

Wow, I figured they would be a lot faster. I got my nismo Short shift in the mail today, btw. I have decided that in about 8 months i'm going to start saving for the VQ. After my bonus and w2's for NEXT year I should have a pretty nice chunk of money. I can't fucking wait!

Those GTIs would kill Specs up here in Denver. Turbos rule the mile high city.

of course up there, they are pretty close unless they have that dsg gearbox, it shaves like 4 tenths in the quarter or something stupid like that, top gear did a comparison between the gti and the dsg equipped version with some jdmtyteyo driver in the manual, and he got crushed pretty bad by the dsg

ive raced one before and pulled him a few inches at a time, its not like a super kill or anything but the spec is just slightly faster
