I was watching the fast the furiuos the other night...and I thought do they really have a thing...its pretty much like a street race but on a much bigger scale...if they do have "race wars", where? when?

I dont know about "RACE WARS" but we used to have import night at the local drag track here every 3rd fri and sat night. It was kinda cool till it got a little out of control with everybody wanting to put thier parents cars on the track.

I think "race wars" could probably comparable to NOPI without all the big carshows and stuff.

I know close to where I live they used to have an old airstrip open every friday night and saturday for street racing. It was somewhat organized and apparently was really popular. I've heard many stories as to why it is no more. Most likely because people took advantage of it. Now its all from lights on route 30... you think someone would catch on adventually and open a place like we had before. Personally I think there would be alot of money to make despite the money needed for insurance and what not. The nearest track is about 2 hours away from me or else I'd be there every weekend.

Speaking of F&F. I was reading this magazine for rich people, Robbs Report Magazine and the guy who was writing the article said and I quote. (Speaking of the GT40) "I was accelerating through the corners, double clutching through the gears. For a moment I felt like I was a Le Mans champion."

Edit: Racewars WAS a real event... I can't find any new information on the event, the last thing I can find dates back to '04... but still, it was indeed a real event (not like portrayed in the movie, but I'm not even gonna start dissecting the movie)

I appologize for any one I may have rubbed the wrong way with my smart ass remark. I should have been setting a better example. I didnt mean it to be a big thing, merely to just bring a bit of humor, after all, it was very easy to find an answer as Mikelb pointed out.

In all reality though, anyone serious enough to race for that kind of cash woul be doing it on a timed track to make sure the close calls were really decided in the right favor. Plus F&F makes the "tuner culture" look like 400 people scattered across the country, all with the nuts and the green to race for thousands of dollars at a time. That kind of thing doesnt really happen, atleast not all that often. If there were really such a thing, it would bring far too many people, thats what import nights are for at drag tracks.

$100 grand isnt really a realistic thing to say that someone has under the hood. I dont know, but IIRC Rau has less than that into his car and his is the fastest 4 cyl in the world. IIRC hes about 80k deep into the whole car. I suppose if you were trying hard enough and had everything custom made, chromed, and powder coated it could be done, but its largely impractical and you would have to sit and dream up shit to powder coat/chome/or custom make.

I think you could smelt the block from the fucking shit the space shuttle is made out of and get everything else and not come close to 100g's in a car. I mean there is only so much you can do. After that everything is either replaced when it breaks, or it's just redundant.

The first F&F is a good movie to get wasted to and try to point out all the bullshit. Interesting arguements among retards have sprouted from it, lol. But yea, like everyone else is saying, local dragstrips have run what you brung nights or bracket tournies. If you want the whole flagger deal, get on Pinks or go to illegal races and get your car locked up.

I liked Tokyo Drift, the first one of the 3 that actually had some cool racing scenes. I don't know what to think of the ending though, I hope to god they don't bring Vin Diesel back for a 4th one.

There were downloaded hacked versions of it. I forgot which one I used, I think it was call NittoUnderground or somethin. All it really did was keep racing the computer tournies and automatically wins and I tell it how many races I want it to do.

the 1st F&F was not even close to being real lol, everything fake if you ask me, even the cars. A NT eclipse making turbo sounds lol. The supra was actually a auto pretending to be a stick lol, and the civics were junkyard cars fixed up and then sold on ebay for little to nothing, them civics had around 190k miles on them lol.
