'90 Ford Taurus Won't Run

New here, I have a '90 Ford Taurus, with v6 3.0 sho. This car has sat at the house for the past 6 or 7 months. Don't know how long before then, but that was the last time I started it and moved it. When I went to start it the other day, it would barley start, (wouldn't run). So I drained what gas I could, put in new gas and some octane booster, changed fuel filter. Now car still won't idle or run..... to keep it going at all I have to feather the gas pedal. Only thing I have done so far is to take off the IAC valve and clean it with carb cleaner. Would appreciate any advice as to what to do next. Thanx in Advance.

When you feather the throttle, does the engine then seem to run okay, or is it rough?

The V-6 SHO engine has issues with leaky spark plug well seals that would allow oil to flow into the spark plug wells and cause the spark plug wires to short to the head and cause a misfire.

If the fuel has been sitting in the car for quite some time, there may be varnish on the fuel injector nozzles as well. You may want to add a bottle of fuel injector cleaner to the tank and run it awhile, after checking at least the front three plug wires for signs of moisture or oil.

Okay I have put a bottle of injection cleaner in it. Also pulled the three plugs up front and they just had a little black on them. Also noticed the other morning when I went to try to start it again (it was 13 deg. outside), it would crank, but would not start.... so I kinda figure there is still water in the gas lines......... I just might have to drop the fuel tank and clean it out all together

Did you check for fuel pressure when it cranked but didn't start? If you have no fuel pressure, moisture in the tank may not be the only problem.

Also, crankshaft position sensors have been an issue with the V-6 SHO. You may also want to check for spark.

The oil that I was referring to would be on the spark plug wire boots, not on the spark plugs themselves.
