Putting an aftermarket gauge in place of the stock one is a chore.... Trevor posted a thread over on 3si titled "6 hour boost gauge install"
As for MBC. An MBC is a MBC basically. Dont spend $50 on one just because its a name brand.

The cheapest mbc you can find is hte best one. Nobody should ever pay more than $20 to have one shipped to their door. 52mm gauge will fit in stock location, but it's a whole lot easier to add an a-pillar pod and put it there.

i think ill go with the pilar one. But I just dont want to get my car broken into! all i have is the stock alarm. how should i reinforce the pod?

Pod is a piece of plastic that screws onto your a-pillar on hte inside of hte cabin. It has zero affect on the car's safety or lack thereof. And just fyi, any idiot with a yardstick or clothes hanger can break into these cars in under 20 seconds. Try it if you're bored sometime. The lack of a window frame on the door makes it entirely too easy.

For the A-pillar gauge cluster, I'd go with the cianci one. Proven to fit right, looks good, and you also get to support one of the few 3/S-specific aftermarket providers.
