On the Beeb (BBC) there is a famous radio show called 'Desert Island Discs' where guests are invited to nominate six records they would have if they were to be stranded on a desert island.

Now here's clues about the six albums that I would have on a desert island... oh Artist and Album name required

Album One - this a hard one. This is an album of jazz standards by a Swedish Pop Singer.

Album Two - REM but not REM. A civilian HumVee, white dressing and the amusement park in North Sydney.

Album Three - Think about the vegetation in the Mojave and Gary Powers.

Album Four - This soundtrack's fourth track contains a kurayamino mix

Album Five - The performing quintet have sought solace individually in fly by nigh punbk rock groups with uninspired monikers like NOFX, Lagwagon, Swingin' Utter and No Use for a name. The entire concept is a cover of showtunes.

Album Six - Okay so I like indie artists - this one contains a whole pile of familiar tunes from the weekend.

number six could only be

Saturday Morning Cartoon's - Various atrists.

(my favoite track has to be Sublimes cover of Hong Kong Phooey)

No Less than Jake is incorrect - remember the clue was Show Tunes covers!

Here's another clue the first two tracks are:

1 Over the Rainbow (The Wizard of Oz)
2 Don't Cry for me Argentina (Evita)

Taz does it again.. the answers were...

1 Lisa Ekdahl - Back to Earth
2 Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
3 The Joshua Tree - U2
4 The Matrix - Soundtrack
5 Me First and Gimme Gimmes - Are a Drag
6 Saturday Morning - Cartoon's Greatest Hits (Various Artists)

2,3,4 were one's I expected you guys to get but 5 was a real stretch, I spoke about 6 last week on another thread but 1 was never going to be easy unless you like blonde swedish pop singers (no she's nothing like ABBA)...

i have a good one... even though i didn't get any part of the previous riddle correct...

it's a soundtrack, the music was composed specifically for one person. the cd's cover has the title character, as well as what the plot of the movie really chronicles the life of. the answer to this has already been posted in ot at least twice this week, but not in this context.

Okay smartboys here's one for ya

I have a CD on my desk that I'm listening to... Some of the tracks I've listened to repeated over and over again ie the same track repeated sometimes over and over for hours on end.

Other tracks on the CD this doesn't apply to.

Mostly, I have to concentrate really hard when I'm listening to the repeated tracks over and over - it makes me sweat, my eyes get tired, I get thirsty and my whole right hand and left hands get sore from the effort - this can last for hours or merely a few minutes.

Try putting that thru google...

Thanks Heep - The innuendo was intended. When you get the answer you will be kicking yourselves (and nope it's not in a foreign language either).

One more clue - ricer boy fantasy...

Ditto!

What's more embarrasing is the amount of time I spend getting myself into the above mentioned situation, sweaty palms and sore thumbs. :o
