Door lock sensor

Anyone know where the front door lock sensors are located that tell the doors are closed. My keyfob will not lock the car, the front door warning light on the dash stays on so the keyfob cannot lock the car, will unlock??????????? Or am I going in the wrong direction to fix this issue. Car is a 2002 Xtype.
