I was going to change my spark plugs on my galant, I was able to accomplish one even though I have never seen spark plugs in a place like that before. It had some oil on the spark plug too. Was the oil normal? How do people change the spark plugs anyway?
Thanks for all and any help!

the thumbs down icon was an accident. I guess I need glasses...

Oil on the spark plug is a bad sign.
This is what I do when I replace the spark plugs.
Preparation:
1) gap the spark plugs to their specs. You may have to do some research for the right gap.
2) clean the surrounding area of the spark plug boots. I use a house vacuum to suck the dust.
3) determine the torque spec of spark plug
4) prepare materials : anti-seize, torque wrench, spark plug/deep wrench socket

Guide. Do this when the engine is cold. Remove/replace spark plug one at a time. Otherwise, you may put replace the boot in the wrong plug.
1) Unplug spark plug boot
2) Remove spark plug
3) Thinly apply anti-seize to the thread of your new spark plug.
4) Install new spark plug. It is recommended to insert the plug to a hose and use the hose to turn the plug. This way, if the plug is not seated properly, it will not break the thread.
5) Tighten the plug with a torque wrench to its proper torque spec.
6) Repeat process for the rest of the spark plugs..

If there is oil on the spark plugs from the top of the spark plug hole dripping down, then replace the Valve Cover Gasket.
