Like the title says... My hair is falling out. :(
It's not like it falls out in giant clumps, but you know how your hair brush gets the loose hair out and then you just clean out your brush. Well, EVERY time I brush my hair I have to clean it out, and that's not taking into account the 2 dozen strands of hair that stuck to the back of my shirt and the other dozen strands that fall to the floor. :(
I suspect that it's from stress, but I'm really not at all happy about this happening, and it's stressing me out even more seeing my curls fall limp b/c half of my hair is in the trashcan once I finish styling. I mean, this is actually rather grossing me out. :( :o

That really sux Tangie. :( I would say it's probably due to stress too. :( Try taking some Vitamin B and a Womens Multivitamin as a start. Also try some sort of exercise like Yoga for a bit of relaxation and exercise.
Also make sure you're getting enough healthy fats in your diet. You could try a tablespoon of flaxseed oil per day mixed in with a salad dressing or vegetable dressing as a way to get some in. Also make sure you're eating enough as diet could also be a big factor.
Let us know how you get on. I'm sure it's only a temporary thing.

As I do care about you as a friend, and someone casually tricked me into browsing through AF, I felt that I needed to post a response to your concern.
You have every right to be concerned, and I have experienced what you're going through. In fact, I'm still recovering. The first thing that concerns me is that you have openly discussed demonstrating anorexic tendencies in your eating habits. Depending on how that, combined with stress, may have affected your body, that could be the result of your hair loss.
Secondly, I would tend to rule out stress as the sole factor. Yes, stress can lead to increased hair loss (we all shed a little), but not in the amounts you're describing.
Spec2 gives good advice. My advice would be to watch your diet very carefully. Eat a balanced diet, but make sure that you eat enough. Furthermore, examine your stress levels. Men, as well all know send our stress levels through the roof. Let's face it, relationships aren't stress-relieving. I know that you're tackling school head-on as well, and you're working really hard. I commend your efforts, but make sure that you're not working yourself too hard. Every day, spend at least 20 minutes doing something for yourself.
My hair loss was a result of nearly a year of anorexic behavior. My hair, once thick and very healthy, became thin and unhealthy. It was evident to my family before it was evident to me. Try talking to your family/peers. Have they noticed a difference? If it's something that has been occuring for a while it's definately something that should be closely examined.
The good news is that it will grow back, provided the proper measures are taken. It was last spring when I was having my hair styled for a nice night out that the stylist stopped and asked me about when my hair started thinning. Taken aback, I explained the situation to her. She then pointed out to me that it was growing back. Little ''baby'' hairs she called them.
Now, I'm doing a lot better, as I'm sure you will too.
Take care of yourself. We're all looking out for you (whether or not we consider ourselves part of AF anymore). ;)

I know this is totally OT (sorry Tangie), but just wanted to say that it's good to hear that you are doing better Dante. Good to see you post on here again. :)

Dang, glad to see you back up around here, Dante... And nice to see you "hide" in here. That is, afterall, what it's all about.
Thank you (both of you) for helping... I have been forcing myself to eat atleast twice a day now for the past week. I just pray that my long hair will come back soon... It's getting so thin. :(
I'm absolutely exhausted right now, so I'm off to bed, but everyone... Feel free to post!!! It gets lonely being the only poster in our forum :p

Tangie, good to see that you are making some headway. I'm sure if you keep this up and try to eat more your hair will come back. :)
