No heat in bro's Ford bronco?

I know a few of you guys on here are mechanics and a few others have domestics. So I figured I ask my fellow dsmer's for help. My bro's truck is blowing air but it doesnt seem to get hot. This has just started happening all of a sudden. Any idea's of what the problem could be?

Sounds like it could be a heater core, or something wrong with that cable thats connected to the valve, when you switch from hot to cool. Is there any coolant leaking in the passenger side floor board? I think thats where the heater core is

Does he let the car warm up before he turns on the heater? Heaters pull warm air from the coolant to heat your vehicle, so if the coolant is still cold then that's all it would be blowing. I usually keep my heater off until the needle gets at least on the gauge before I turn my heater on.

I'd start simple and cheap... if the car has started overheating, probably the thermostat...

might wanna check and make sure the car has enough coolant... if it gets air in there, it won't flow the coolant properly, can overheat the car and keep it from blowing hot air (no coolant passing through the heater core)... but als look for that leak... and make sure all the coolant hoses look fine (not swollen, leaking, busted, etc)...

yup low coolant can cause no heat, plugged heater core. Heater core does not have to leak to be bad. Sometimes you can open troubles in other places doing this IMO but you can run radiator flush to see if that breaks the junk up if it is plugged.

We flushed it out today. He said it feels hotter so far so i guess tomorrow will be the true test.

He said its still not as hot as it should be. A week ago he said it felt way better. He warms it for like a half hour too. What to try next?

Does the engine fully heat up to normal operating temp? It won't do that if he turns on the heat and is constantly pulling heat from the motor before it even warms up.

I was thinking of it being stuck closed (which is what I've seen here lately), but it could possibly be stuck open. I'd start there, thats a cheap and simple fix if that's what it is...

easiest way to check that is let the truck warm up and grab the upper rad hose, if its hot your golden if its cool/warm you have a problem.

If the thermostat was stuck open and it was somewhat cold out, the vehicle wouldn't heat up at all, you'd be lucky to even get the gauge to move. That's why I asked if the gauge moved to normal operating temps.

The gauge does move to normal operating temp. He warms his truck up for a half hr too in the morning.

If the truck gets to operating temp ok then you could have a pluged heater core but my money is on something as simple as the blend door.

Whats the blend door?
