Does anyone know where the turn signal flasher relay is located on a 2004 Clasic?

The flasher is part of the hazard light switch, and controls both the turnsignal and emergency flashers.

If your flasher relay is going bezerk, there is a way to fix it without spending $300+ at the stealership...

Thanks for the input, guys! Did it myself, 30 minutes and $35 took care of it.

What was the $35 quick fix? Turn signal on my 97 Malibu has been intermittently working for the past month. Changed the bulbs and fuse w/o benefit. I looked in my Chiltons manual and can't find the location of the relay for the turn signals.

On my car, the flasher relay is integrated in the hazard switch.

Bear with me, I am not very car literate. Where is the hazard switch? I suspect you don't mean the one on the dash (or do you)? Any details you can give about the $35/30 minute fix is appreciated.

Yes, the one in the dash that turns on the hazard flashers. I believe that your car is very similar to mine. There are 2 screws in the bezel above the instrument cluster that must be removed. Then CAREFULLY pry off the bezel-it's held on by several clips. The switch is removed/installed from the rear of the bezel. I hope this helps, I got my new switch from a dealer. Ask the parts guy if you can see an exploded view of the dash to get an idea of how the switch is removed. Good luck!

Jonnik, Your post about the flasher relay being part of the hazard switch promted me to test my hazards when the flashers stopped working. My hazards still work when the flashers did not. Do you recall if your hazards still functioned when your flashers did not?

When my turn indicators would quit, I could turn on the hazard flashers and they would work, and the turn indicators would also work for a while. I think the relay was at the point where the 2 turn indicator bulbs would not draw enough current to activate the relay, but the 4 hazard bulbs would. My turn indicators have been working without fail for a week now, when before they would fail 1 or 2 times a day.

I finally got around to getting to the dealer to get the relay/hazard switch. Part cost $26 and it took me less than 30 minutes to put it in. For others who may need to perform this fix:
1. Remove two screws just above the spedometer display and gently pull off the trim panel all the way across the dash.
2. Remove the wire harness off the hazard switch.
3. The hazard switch pulls out from the front but you have to pinch the clips from the back side. I took off the two screws on the underside of the panel on each side of the vent and removed the entire hazard switch/vent section from the trim panel but I don't think this is necessary.
4. Once the old hazard switch is out, just push the new one in from the front and attach the wire harness. Re attach the trim panel in reverse and your done.
Part number was 10359580, BIN 1008.

The flasher relay appears to have been the problem. Going on one month now w/o any issues w/ the flashers/blinkers after replacing the hazard switch.
