1995 BlazerLT, 4x4, 3 button, 233 transfer case.

So I finally got time to put in a new (used) Transfer case motor, all numbers that I could find match up with my old one.
Guess what, it didnt solve the problem.

Heres whats weird about this. First off I have never gotten any codes from the TCCM. The very first time I pulled the codes I had a code 1. Then I cleared the codes and have never gotten another code at all.

Second thing is, with the old TCM when I hit the 4hi button the light would start flashing and I would hear the relays click 5 distinct times. After about 30 seconds the light would stop flashing and it would return to 2hi.
With this new motor, that Im told worked fine when removed, the 4hi light flashes for only about 3 seconds and I only hear 2 relay clicks.

I know for sure, with either TCM I dont hear any noise at the transfer case at all. I also know that the vacuum never gets sent to the front diff actuator.
I also know that the front drive shaft is not engaged to the transfer case.

Can someone tell me were exactly the TCCM is located on my truck as well. I looked behind the right kick panel and its not there.

If anyone has any information please feel free to put in your :2cents: .
Even if you dont think its gonna solve the problem post up anyways. I have to get some ideas on where to go next.

I think you have a different problem because a 93 Jimmy has a different transfer case and TCCM.

If you need help on it start a new post and someone will help and give up what transfer case you have and engine and mileage and what it is doing or not doing.

It seems to be the philosiphy of the auto makers that if it lasts 100k miles than who cares.
Most of these problems seem to pop up after 100k.

MT thanks for the info. Ill look into it and post the results.
It sounds like the relay clicking is coming from that area, but everyone always says behind the kick panel.

Found the problem and the solution as well as the location of the Transfercase Control Module.

Heres the control module. That Gray box in the behind where the ashtray goes.

Heres the culprit. This stupid plug was not pushed all the way. WTF??? Ive had this truck for 55k miles and never touched that thing, how does it come part way out when there is a positive locking connector?

So after all that BS it was just a connector. At least its fixed.

Thanks for posting back with the fix.
Glad all is well and working now.
Good pictures and looks like they did a good job of hiding that module.
I would say the connector was never snapped in real good and road jar just worked it back off.

The only reason I think it was the dealer is because the previous owner had a couple of things in the 4wd system replaced already. So I figure when they were diagnosing the problems they may have unplugged the module and didnt snap it back in all the way.

Still dont have 4low, but I think its just the button cause it doesnt have that clicky feel when I push it. It just feels like im pushing aginst a solid peice of plastic.

But Im very happy to have my 4wd back. And I got to take care of a couple of other lingering things while I was out in the garage. (Pass side door clips, heater not working with remote start, head lights not working with remote, wire loom over power cable in engine compartment.)
