Question about the downloadable manuals.

I downloaded the ISO version, but Windows won't let me unzip it. Something about the security features in Windows XP. I tried doing the "unblock" thing under file properties, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

You will need to burn the .ISO to a CD using an appropriate CD burning utility such as Nero.

I can't get that far. The file that I downloaded has a .zip extension, so I'm assuming that it's compressed and needs to be unzipped. When I try to unzip it using the Windows utility, I get a message saying a Windows security feature won't allow me to unzip it because it might contain viruses, etc. Of course, I know it's safe, but I can't seem to convince Windows. Do you know if the file is zipped or not? I've never seen a file with a .zip extension that wasn't.

Did you just download the .zip from the website, or did you use a BITTorrent utility to download the .ISO?

If I remember correctly, the file you download from the website is a .zip. The torrent utility uses that .zip to download the actual .iso image file, which can take a few hours or days to download, depending on the speed of your Internet.

I got it to unzip by downloading a demo version of WinZip. I still got the warnings, but the program allowed me to go ahead and unzip it. Then I burned it to a CD by using the ISO Recorder Power Toy.

Of course, now I have another question. There is an icon for TSBs, but when I click it, nothing opens. Are the TSBs supposed to be included?

I think the TSB link will only work if you have the Oasis connection and an Oasis account.

If you download the DVD manuals using bittorrent the TSB's are on the disc once you burn the iso image. You don't need to be connected to OASIS. You do need to reset your computer year back a few to get a couple of the version years to work though (not on the 96-99 or the 2000-2004 versions, but if you the most recent TSB's you have to download 2007-2008 and reset the comp clock back a year or two). A minor hassle.

Were you able to make the DVD versions work with the wiring diagrams as well? Mine crashes if I attempt to open the wiring diagrams.
