Intake Gasket and flushing the coolant system

Ok, some im ready for the bashing but right now IO just don't have the spare cash to up and get my intake gasket replaced. It has been leaking for about 1.5 years, not getting into the oil though, just slowly leaks out the front, atleast that the only place I see it, gets on the exhaust and burns off, never see it on the ground. Oil always comes out perfectly clean and doesn't burn any either. I am really needing to flush the system as I believe the heater core isn't working aswell as it should because of a lack of heat even with the engine up to temp. it runs nice and hot only for a few seconds then bleeds off to just warm air.

Will flushing the system have a impact on the condition of my gasket? I don't want to dislodge anything and force myself into haveing to get it repaired this instant, just don't need it getting to my oil.

i wouldn't think so on gasket because your putting in a t in your heater hose so it gose threw the core and threw the radiater..good luck..

Flush the core alone at the firewall connections and be sure to cover the dist so it does not get wet (I buy a 3' section of 5/8" and 3/4" to do it). You only think no coolant is getting into the engine - most do leak into the valley under the intake so do you get any slight lifter tapping on start - if so thats your sign. Good luck.

The cooling system may be low on coolant. That would explain why the heater only blows hot for a few seconds.

Flushing the cooling system will not harm the gaskets.

Check the under side of the oil fill cap and the dipstick for a "milk shake" looking substance, chocolate brown to tan in color. That's a sure sign that coolant is leaking in to the oil.
