I get a knocking sound when i accelerate into my left and right turns. This sound only happens when i accelerate. When i just coast, the sound never comes up. Anyone know what this is?
I also have a fluid leak at a small boot cover behind the transmission. Its a yellowish clear oil. Any ideas?
Your help is appreciated.
thanks

Sounds like your CV joint is busted. I'd recommend getting it fixed before the entire axle breaks.

clicking or clunking? clicking when turning is outer cv joints, replace the axles it's cheaper than replacing the joints.
clunk on accell is inner cv joints, again replacing axles is cheaper than joints
it's way more common for the outer cv joints to go bad due to much more movement of the joint during use, and the boots split open, next time u'r under u'r car check the cv boots and see which ones are split open if any. u could even just park it and turn the steering wheel all the way to the right to check the left cv boot and all the way to the left to check the right cv boot.

if it's a manual, then it sounds like the shifter input seal is leaking and that is manual transmission fluid u are seeing.

unless he's seeing the grease/lube from the shifter boot - those darn things pop off all the time. They use low temp grease so it tends to be yellowish. Find the leak, plug it/ replace the boot.
