Good Spec V performance sights...

I'm totally new when it comes to Nissans, so bear with me, and be gentle. my girl just bought a new Spec V, and she wants me to tune it. what are some good sights that provide aftermarket products for the V? has any companies came out with forced induction for them yet? any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

2.5L engine has tons of potential however you wont be getting HUGE hp outa the engine. Yeah its got tons of displacement but its plagued with softa valvesprings and thin cylinder walls with badly placed valve rings.

1st thing to do is relocated the overly sensitive knock sensor to the firewall as it makes a HUUUUGE difference in performance, and its free.

headers are available
CAI intake (made by hotshot)
suspension
exhaust
ECU
a turbocharger is available which claims 250hp.. goto www.nissanforums.com and search turbo in the qr25de engine section and youll see it.

Just wondering who makes and ECU for our car.....Oh yeah and by the way I called Venom A few days ago researching the VCN 2000 and they also said that whey will be coming out with the Venom 400 performance Chip......Anyone have any experiences with this product....

A knock censor is a censor that predicts when your cylinders have high potential to knock, that is, a combustion fault, also known as pinging. Its placement on this dude's car isnt so great, and behind the firewall can give a more accurate portrayment of what the [dilly] is with your combustion. Less firing problems=better performance

please pay no attention to fireinthesky28. that is quite possibly the worst explaination of what a knock sensor is. A knock sensor actually detects detonation as opposed to " predicting when your cylinders have a high potential for detonation" it is on your motor to protect your motor since it reads direct info from the motor and sends it to the computer to either add or remove fuel according to the reading it gives the computer. it MAY give you power(when taken off or relocated) but when your motor blows up, it'll be due to this. I am a certified mechanic and diagnostics technician and know this information is true.

I am glad the information is cleared up, and apologize for thinking I knew a thing or two. I will be sure to sack whoever was responsible for completely misguiding me in the world of knock sensors.

AWWW, it's ok man. And sorry for maybe seeming like kind of a jacka$$. I just wanted to straighten this up because as a spec owner myself I find this whole knock sensor thing a little bothering. They really are put there by ALL manufacturers as a tool that aids in proper air/fuel ratios,timing adjustments,and the overall protection of the engine and transmission. when you remove or modify the knock sensor, you in turn alter the system management which in turn does not respond correctly to crucial calculations that a proper running motor needs. I now digress.... :D
