If you have one, check the tag on the drivers door for that info.

Curb weight about 3,600 lbs for Caprice/Classic, 3800 for Brougham/LS. GVWR is about 4800 IIRC - my tag has been gone for years.

Your using a full trailer, otherwise if its a dolly I would disconnect the drive shaft for such a long drive.

Are you certain about that curb weight? My '94 is 4,220 at the track scale, with about 3/8 tank of fuel, one sub in the rear, and a full-sized spare.

The decal in the door jamb only lists GVWR - The rated maximum loading for total vehicle weight and on each axle, and not the curb weight. My '94 reads "5190, 2529 Front, 2661 Rear." The '96 reads "5193, 2521 Front, 2672 Rear."

Either way, I would suspect the empty weight to be well over 3600. Just trying to save you any hassles.

Absolutely - the specified curb weight for a car representative (1987 Caprice) is here at this site - http://us.geocities.com/onamarie.geo/chevy1987.html

I'm surprised that they are that much lighter than the later series. My '86 Trans Am weighs 3,380 with fuel and no driver, and that seems like a lot less car than the B-Bodies.

The curb weight comes from the factory sales brochure.
