Envoy Remote Starter Install

I put a remote starter in my 05 Envoy this morning. Used a Bulldog 1100 and DEI 1700G bypass. I got both from Ebay NIB for $60. The install was very quick, as the envoys wires are all very easy to get to. The brake wire was the most difficult as it was way up there. The 1700G is a databus bypass, makes the job much easier. This was my first remote start install, I would rate the difficultly a 3 from 1 -10.

The technology must have gotten better. I installed a bulldog with passlock II bypass module in my 1998 K1500 about 8yrs ago. Got overly familiar with the underside of the dash.:banghead: With these new BCM and CAN data bus systems, I'd never do an aftermarket one today.:2cents:

Well its MUCH easier now because of the data bus bypass controller. You need only connect about 5 wires to the steering column harness. ONLY ONE wire goes to the GM data bus which controls your passlock 2, alarm, flashers, dome, doors and tail gate! Really was easy.
