ok, so basically my blower for the heater in my blazer decided to stop working, it would still spin at a very lowe speed but wouldnt go on high or any other setting. So i took the ground off and made sure the connection was clean...it was but i noticed if i put the ground back on while the blower setting is on high, then it will kick on, and if i tighten the ground down and move the switch to a lower setting then it will stop working, so basically it will only work on high and i have to remove the ground and re-attach it for it to work.....whats goin on here???? its a 92 s-10 blazer with the 4.3 tbi

Sounds like the blower motor resistor is bad. It's only about $7.00 so it's worth a try.

My 93 does this too where is the resistor located?
02euro does your blazer have a silver box with a plug in it next to the blower motor? I thought this was my problem because when I unplug it & plug it back in it has high too (no other speeds though) our local parts store don't even show this box there on there computer??

the resistor is located almost on top of where the A/C lines go in...just to the right in the picture u have. theres two screws holding it in and a 4? prong clip on it, its right out in the open, hard to miss. I took mine out and it showed no signs of wear, but i ordered a new one just in case. The silver box you talkin about i dont even know what its called but i tried a different one of those too and it did no difference. I'll let u know when i put the new resistor in if it works or not.

Yep, this resistor is mounted to the heater box with the "resistor" side on the inside of the box and the connector on the outside.

Ok I'll take a look when it gets home (the wife has it @ work) I don't recall seeing any other plug but I will look.
Thanks!
Thanks!

here is what I seen is this it?
The parts store guy was telling me another problem may be with a part on the heater box inside under the dash. I just can't remember what he called it.

Post #4 shows the high blower relay. Red wire is hot all the time. Purple wire goes to the blower motor. Black wire goes to ground. Blue wire is from the resistor. The orange wire is from the switch, "HI" speed position.
Post #9 shows the blower resistor in the middle of the image. If you remove it, you can see all of the resistors and make sure they are bad before you replace it. If there's a problem, you'll see it, a broken resistor etc.

OK I took out the resistor & I must tell you, this is not what I was expecting to see...what an odd looking contraption. from what I see it looks fine? is this what it looks like when its good?....

My next question would be if this part is good, what else controls the fan speed besides the switch itself?

Looks good from here. Next step is to check for voltage at the wires at the resistor. Unplug the resistor, turn the key to RUN. Brown wire = low. Tan wire = med 1. Lt blue = med 2. Dark blue goes to the motor through the high blower relay. The orange wire at the high blower relay is from the Hi position on the switch.
