87 Prelude Heater controls

My 87 Prelude heater fan speed control switch is either on full blast all the time or off. It does not seem to make much difference where the slide switch is located. I replaced the switch and it still works the same. Someone told me there is a relay down by the fan moter that may be the problem. Does anyone know anything about this?
