My 98 sonoma decided not to throw anymore heat, right when I need it the most at 10 degrees wind chill -20. the thermostat seems to be fine, plenty of anti-freeze but one heater hose is warm the other is cold is the core blocked or is it something else that is not letting hot water through.

I believe you nailed it. That indicates a blockage. Try removing both hoses from the engine(both still attached to the core), and run a garden hose into one hose, and let the other drain on the ground or container. Flush both ways until clear water comes out. This should buy you some time until you can get a new core.

A new core are you kidding with only 60,000 miles I guess dexcol is crap just like I read.

I had a 3 year old '99 Blazer and the same thing happened to me. I most usually flush out the dexcool and replace with 3 yr-30,000mi. green stuff.
