my problem is quite easy to fix i think.
when i start talking to somone about car i start hearing numbers, names, compression ratios, so on and so forth....
my problem lies in not knowing what their talking about
so my question is: where can i learn this stuff, is there any book out there that can teach me the basics of all these numbers and names, or is this a lost cause for me

john lingenfelter put out a good book on how to build performance small bocks. explains a lot of things in detail. very interesting book. get it at borders or barnes and noble or whatever is around you.
