Does anyone know how to check the coil packs on a 1992 cutless ciera s sedan using a voltmeter? My voltmeter has V settings of 200m, 2000m 20, 200, 500; which setting do I use? My coil pack is off the car and has 2 terminals at the top for 2 different spark plug wires to connect and underneath has 2 slits to plug into the ignition module.

You want 200ohm position, the K means measured in thousandths and 2M is millionths.

Then you just test the resistance accrossed the terminals as with any coil pak.

I do not know what you mean by across terminals. There are 2 terminals at the top for 2 different spark plug wires to attach and 2 slits at the bottom to attach to the ignition module. What should the voltmeter read and do I use the slits at the bottom of the coil pack to test the coil pack. Please go through the steps in testing one by one.

Thanks for your help!!

measure ohms acrossed the plug wire terminals,
and the same on the bottom two.

I dont have exact at the moment for your car.
You can take them into most parts stores and they can test them for you.
