OK, first of all, if you are over 6ft, forget about it. I'm 6ft and the thing is barely big enough for me to drive. But my wife loves the thing, it's just her size. Most of the bad reviews i've seen are about the spyder and how you cant see s*** out the back window, which is extremely true. (of course one does not buy a convertible to drive with the top up :grinyes: ) the only other main complaints i've seen is its got a big ass, and that there is lots of rattly plastic. It does indeed have a big ass, but I have had very little issue with the plastic quality. the only place I have heard a rattle is from the vanity mirror covers on the plastic part of the convertible top, which went away when I stuck my CD folder on the sunvisor. Everything I've heard about body roll seems like utter crap to me, I never have seen as rigid of a convertible ever. I really like the thing, and my wife loves that car. My advice, test drive it yourself, dont always assume the 6'3" guy who reviewed the car will have the same experience as you!

Well, being a person that fixes electrical issues on vehicles on dealers lots I have to say that I'd stay away from the Mitsu cars for a while. Man are they littered with electrical gremblins.

Examples please if you know of any major ones (also, what do you mean when you say "for a while...like, the 2006+ vehicles, or even past vehicles).

I have not sat in a 4G eclipse, but I am 6'3" and I have a 3G and the front seats are MORE than big enough for me in the legs....the backseat is another story (as with any 2 door).

Well, there's a dealer that loves to buy the 3g cars alot for the younger crowd and I think almost every single one I've had to fix something on. The one that was the cleanest was the worst. It only had about 45k miles on it but the locks wouldn't work correctly, the OEM keyless was shot, and the fog lamps weren't working. I was able to fix the locks and foglights by running new wires.

The other cars would have simular issues as well. Usually, it was a bad wire somewhere causing a short. My sister had a 2dr Sebring which is basically just a rebadged Mitsu and it too had lock issues.

I will say my cig lighter outlet is crap...i have a radar detector, and it also shows the volts...my head unit also shows specific amplifier volts, and the head unit always show like 1volt higher than the detector, and sometimes when I turn, the cig lighter cuts out, and the detector shuts off and restarts. I think I just need to replace the outlet because I think the connections are crap, and if that doesnt fix it I will run new wires.

My cig lighter use to do the same thing. My radar dectector has a mute button on the cig adaptor and everytime I pushed it, it would restart about 50% of the time. One day I got to pokin my finger in there tryin to move it around and stuff and I heard alittle pop like a clip broke or something. I dont know what I did but my radar hasnt restarted since and this was months ago.
My keyless entry has been acting funny the last week. When I hit the lock button sometimes the horn blows and sometimes it doesnt.

I've got a 2007 Eclipse Spyder GT and I love it. The response is great. I bought the spyder since I'm in GA and I travel with the top down most of the time. You can't see hardly anything out of the back when the top is up but it's a convertible. Use your freaking mirrors. The only complaint I have about the car at all is the display for the Rockford Fosgate. I love the system but it doesn't display the songs or anything. When it's playing mp3's it just says "1 1 12" for Disc 1, Folder 1, Song 12. That's it. It's annoying as hell. I'm getting a dvd player installed that can accept inputs from the Fosgate and display the freaking song title on the screen.

I have the same detector you have (the X50 rocks my socks off...it has saved my ass SOOO many times on long road trips), and when I push the remote mute button on the cig lighter it cuts out sometimes...I will keep dicking around with it and hope it fixes it, but I bet I will have to replace it.

Yeah the X50 is great. I've had it for almost a year now and it hasn't let me down yet. I read some where about a new model coming out soon, that should be interesting.
