I have an 89 toyota truck with a v6 that has a clutch problem. It won't go into gear. It just grinds. I have replaced the clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder (with lots of bleeding). After all that, it still grinds like I never even worked on it. Do I have a bad trans? I used to see this truck running around town alot so I don't think the trans is out. I bought it with a bad fuel pump. Fixed that no problem. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave

Does it help if you pump the pedal a few times before trying to shift?
Did you replace the flex line in the clutch hydraulic system? Flex lines deteriorate internally, preventing or limiting the flow of fluid.
Did you check for worn or oblong pivot points on the clutch fork? Worn pivot points can limit movement.

Have a friend press the clutch pedal while you observe the movement of the clutch fork.

I had a similar problem on my sons 93 four wheel drive , found a piece of foil in the fluid res. by accident , was sure glad I did. I had changed the slave and master cyl , and had taken new one off to get it replaced when the float feel out and man was I happy it did .

Did the guy sell it you for cheap because he screwed up the transmition or did it run when you got it?
