Whats the redline on a D15B7, my car origanlly came with another d15 that redlined at 5,000rpm, I know the B7 creates peak hp at 5,900 rpm but where's the redline? I can only rev my up to the stock 5,000 rpm redline how/can't I change that? Appreciate all the knowledge ya'll love to share!

its not the motor. its all the in the ecu. its a preset value in the ecu that wont let your rev over a certain rpm. and to get rid of this you could do a few things. re flash your ecu with a new set of values. chip it which i dont recommend unless your motors built. or change ecu's. im not totally positive on this cause im nto heavy o nelectrical and such but im pretty sure those are the deals.

those basically are the options... change your ECU... no matter what stock honda engine you have, chances are, you don't wanna rev it much past 7k anyway... there are several choices for ECU swaps tho... if you're OBD0 or nonOBD (88-91), go with a PM6 from 90-91 CRX Si, it plugs in directly, or you could use a PR4 (I think) from a teg... same basic maps, slightly higher rev... (again, I think).

OBD1 and 2 and 2b, I'm not sure what options you have for those.... but I assume it's a OBD1, since you're running a b7, and those are in 92-95 civics, if I remember correctly.

also keep in mind that you can run OBD0 on an OBD1 engine, and vice versa, as long as you have all the sensors... you just need to swap out some end plugs.. which requires... um... a sewing needle.

you can also pay a lil bit to get it chipped with a flashable E-PROM chip... which means that you can start out with a better stock map, then as you get more upgrades, you will be able to tune for them... that's (for the most part) the cheapest option.

I should have stated I'm running an all stock 88 hf crx other than the D15B7 of course, does anyone know anywhere to start my search for a pm6 ecu from a 90-91 rex si? and please don't say a salvage/junk yard considering I have not one anywhere near me that I know of that has imports, I live in tampa florida so if anyone does no one I've been kept in the dark about please let me know.

youll need to do a mpfi swap which is a whole nother can of beans search the fourm about it before you ask and check out dseries.org maybe im nto sure. but the only thing that will work on a dpfi is a pm5 and a pm9 and a like p01 or something maybe its jsut the pm5 and pm9.

okay I do apologize about my prior statement stating I only had dpfi, it's already been converted to mpfi or came like that iono but it's got a fuel rail and 4 injectors and on the intake manifold it only says pgm-fi, if I'm mistaking please correct. but I would be able to just run that ecu now that I've actually looked and discovered the four fuel injectors, versus two, correct?
