I have a 1990 civic hatch i bought it a week ago. i just found out it has a d16y8 with a integra ls ecu. it looks like it has the dx trans how is this possible. i would like to put a new engine in without messing with new wiring or mounts. i would just put a d16y8 in but cant find one. any help on what i could put in or where to find it. and yes i have been searching for days.

I think all D series trans/motors will bolt up to each other. As for a new motor, B16, B18, B20, NA, turbo, your call. research, find out what you want and what is realistic, then do it.

is there anything wrong with your existing engine? why do you want to change it?
If nothing's wrong with it, you should get a better ECU (P28, which is the ecu from a '92-'95 Si and EX) and get a conversion harness to change over to OBD1.

I have a newly rebuilt D16Y8 with about 7000 miles on it and only want 700 dollars for I've put 2K into the engine....I just bought a H22A to put in mine so don't need the D16Y8 anymore... Just hit me up if you need to know anymore about the engine....
