Motor Mounts

My lower engine mount needs to be replaced but first I need to fix the mount spot. The bolt on the rear side has stripped out the threads in the frame. Should I weld the new mount in place or should I tap out the hole and put a new bolt there?

I'd rethread the hole and put a new bolt in there. Since you're going to do a swap in it eventually anyways, it would just be a clearance issue (if it was welded in) when you try to get the motor and tranny in.

Hi,
I have a 96 Civic that needs a new lower mount on the drivers size. The replacement part I got from Autozone has a very loose fit from the center mount bushing to the shaft from the motor. Is that normal? I don't remember the original being loose on the shaft.
Thanks,
Kevin
