All of a sudden my odometer stopped working does anyone know why this happened? If so how do I fix?

Thanks...

What year model you got? If you still got warranty take it back to the dealer asap because you don't know how fast you are driving. You don't want any ticket for speeding.:flash:

It's a 96 Max SE and my MPH work but my mileage just came to a hault. I think my warranty is up cause I'm at 99,000 miles.

Cool then your odometer will get over 100k. I though that your odometer like mph not functioning.

You are not going to fix it by yourself? :flash:

Heck no...Is it complicated though? How much does something like this cost?

I just recently had one go bad in my wife's car. You're looking at getting a new gauge cluster. I don't believe they sell just the odometer. You can put one in yourself they are not that hard. But you may have to get Nissan to certify your mileage. Another option you have is to pick up a used one at a recycler or salvage yard.

i wish my odometer wouldnt' work so i don't put alot of mileage on my car!!!

you have to take it to the dealer and i think you need to go to DMV to get your car certified or somethin....

had the same thing happen to my 96 se.
just one day the odometer conked out.
you have to change the entire gauge cluster.
i had an estimate done at a licensed speedo shop
and it was only about 25 bucks cheaper than the dealer
(he would have had to order the gauge cluster from them anyway
and his labor charge was only a bit less)

the day after the odometer died,
i went to the dealer to have them order, install and certifiy it.
cost about $400! parts and labor.
the dealer parts guy said that in his 10 years of working there,
this was the first time he has ever had to order a speedometer/
odometer gauge set (lucky me...)

guess it depends if you want to stay legit.
you could always get one from a salvage yard, but

hope this helps.

I once have problem with my speedometer( needle pointing how fast we are driving) but this wasn't on my Max , it's on my dodge. The weird thing is when I travel at around 30 mph and speedo show 60 mph, or
when I travel at around 70 mph and speedo show 20 mhp but the good thing it was cover by warranty at that time.:flash:
