I have a 1984 full size blazer i have to pour gas in the carb to get it started and after many tries it will keep idling on its own, but if i give it more then a 1/4 throttle the dam things sputters and stalls. when its idling it just purs. so far all ive done is replace the full pump and fuel filter, the pump was worn but didnt seem to be the problem. i pulled the carb off (it will probly need to be cleaned anyway) and there is lots of fuel in it even in the filter housing. the carb still seems nice and tight. by the way its a 305 with a 4 barrel carb with automatic choke, so what do yall figure?

Your truck is not getting enough fuel on acceleration. That's why it stalls. Let me ask you this: when you removed the fuel filter, was it clogged or restricted? If so the impurities that restricted you old filter may have just as rapidly blocked and clogged you new one.

The first thing I would do is clean the carb(s), take carb apart let it soak in either a chemical that can be purchased at any parts store, or in straight gas. Then blow all the parts out really good with compressed air and put it back on the truck and try it. Had real simmiliar problems with my 305

This sounds like the carb needs a little work. Pull the carb and clean it up real well, or go all the way and find someone that still rebuilds them and get it rebuilt. Also make sure you have no vacuum leaks at the base, or anywhere for that matter.
